Doctor (1875), magistrate and historiographer

Awarded the doctorate at the Ất Hợi session (1875). Magistrate of Nghĩa Hưng, Hồng lô Tự khanh, biện lý at the Ministry of Justice and compiler at the Quốc sử quán, at Huế under Tự Đức. An uncompromising patriot, he let himself die after the protectorate treaties of 1883-1884.
